"Brian was developing his spiritual streak, a deeper interest in a supreme being. He'd always considered his music divinely inspired but he was trying to get his mind and soul to a higher plane ... He'd begun to pray. It soothed his mind. During the Pet Sounds session, Brian held little prayer meetings. Carl joined him. 'Brian would actually write down prayers on paper.' Carl recalled. 'We'd pray for guidance, to make the most healing sounds.'"

"Randy, could you tell us how you and Carl Wilson got together to write "Keepin' The Summer Alive"? I love both the Beach Boys and Union's version. On Strike is a great album btw!"
Hi Jeff, Carl Wilson heard some Ironhorse tracks on the radio in LA. He invited me to play with them. I was the opening act and was invited back on stage for the encores. Brian Wilson had just come back out of rehab. The studio was booked by the band Chicago so Carl invited me to Caribou Ranch. Normally you have a break for a few days in between shows so we decided to write together. I had great affection for The Beach Boys. A few years ago I went to see their 50th anniversary tour at The Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto. Of course some are gone. I was asked to lead them in prayer before they went on stage and felt very humbled by that request. They pray before each show that the music will touch the people and bring joy. I miss Carl a lot. He was a wonderful person and like my brother. We looked alike and were both kind of mild mannered with brothers in our bands.
