Barbara Ann 5th #1 Hit for Beach Boys!?

How Barbara Ann Became The Beach Boys 5th #1 Hit

It seems that the ever-popular Beach Boys hit, "Barbara Ann," was a #1 hit everywhere but Billboard, topping The Top 100 Singles Chart in both Cash Box and Record World.

Every Saturday this year we are running The Super Chart representing The Top 100 Songs In The Country for that week in 1966 ... as part of our 60 YEARS AGO TODAY feature.  The Super Chart represents the COMBINED information calculated by all three major trade publications at the time (Billboard, Cash Box and Record World) and consolidates them all into one master listing.  Because there were sometimes chart position discrepancies of 20+ places between the three trades, we came up with this way of better presenting a more factual view of what was really going on.

You can catch The Super Charts every Saturday in Forgotten Hits at forgottenhits60s.blogspot.com ... and find all kinds of OTHER interesting music information from that era on the days in between.
